If you’re someone who’s been eagerly anticipating the newest offering from Stringfisher, “It Will Rise” then you’re in luck. The creation of these six songs was a true joy but I have to admit that this EP was originally intended to be part of a twelve song album. However, as is often the case, my impatience got the better of me and I just had to release what I had.
“It Will Rise” is a body of work that continues to develop the Stringfisher “sound”.
However I’m not entirely sure what that “sound” is yet. Some listeners have labeled it as #dreampop #shoegaze #indie and #indierock but I haven’t found a category that I feel completely comfortable stamping the music with just yet.
Recently, I listened to all of Stringfisher’s releases in order, starting with “Made It” and moving on to “Say OK” and finally the yet to be released “It Will Rise”. As I listened, I could hear myself learning and growing as an artist. I could also hear Stringfisher evolving and developing.
I’m confident that the sound hasn’t fully formed yet and may continue to change shape with every release. Honestly, I hope that is the case. I want to continue to push boundaries and explore new creative avenues. So stay tuned for more from Stringfisher because I’m sure “It Will Rise” is just the beginning.
